    Hong Kong is an ideal venue for the arbitration and mediation of disputes arising from international commercial and financial investment in Hong Kong, mainland China and the rest of the Asian region.     An applicant:1. shall at least hold a degree of Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent, or pass the CPE examinations or equivalent, from a university or comparable institution. The law degree must be in Common Law, normally from a Hong Kong or Commonwealth institution; and2. will have to demonstrate competence in the following eleven 'Core' subjects: Contract, Tort, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Land Law, Equity, Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, Business Associations, and Commercial Law; and three 'Top-up' subjects: Hong Kong Constitutional Law, Hong Kong Legal System, and Hong Kong Land Law.Applicants who:1. hold a law degree from a university other than one of the three universities offering such degrees in Hong Kong, or other recognised law qualification acceptable to the University of Hong Kong, may be able to demonstrate competence in the eleven 'Core' Subjects when they have been completed as follows:

    (i) as part of their non-Hong Kong common law qualification; and/or(ii) as a visiting internal student in one of the three universities awarding LLB and/or JD degrees in Hong Kong, and passing the requisite examination; and/or(iii) by passing the relevant subject in the Hong Kong Conversion Examination for PCLL Admission.

    The HKU PCLL programme is a leading professional legal education programme devoted to the training of intending lawyers in Hong Kong. The programme is mainly aimed at intending solicitors and barristers in Hong Kong who have completed their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or equivalent legal studies either in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdictions, or have passed the Common Professional Examinations or equivalent.

    To be eligible for admission to the programme leading to the degree of Doctor of Nursing, candidates must:1. comply with the University General Regulations;2. hold a master's degree in nursing or an equivalent discipline from this University, or a comparable university accepted for this purpose;3. currently hold a Registered Nurse Licence;4. have English proficiency as specified by the University's admission requirements; and5. satisfy the application evaluators with (i) a statement of overall career goals and specific research interests, and (ii) an oral justification of their suitability for doctoral education;6. satisfy the examiners in a qualifying examination if required.
    The Doctor of Nursing [DNurs] programme is a professional doctorate with coursework and research components that aims to equip nurses with competencies in theoretical, methodological and analytical approaches for knowledge discovery and translation of knowledge to practice. The curriculum consists of four DNurs core modules, with 26 contact hours per module totaling 104 contact hours; three DNurs track modules, with 26 contact hours per module totaling 78 contact hours; a module on Research Ethics featuring 12 contact hours; and a thesis featuring 104 contact hours. Students are required to complete a thesis of 50,000 to 60,000 words that represents an original scientific study grounded in practice and contains material worthy of publication; students are also required to participate in thesis seminars which will serve as forums for presenting their work in progress on a regular basis and hone their research skills.
