This program focuses on issues of governance and analyses how society deals with challenges and policy problems, often by combining the resources of government and private and community sectors. This program concerns public health in the international context and emphasises a population and public health approach to disease control and health improvement. It considers public health across populations and countries, from low to high incomes, in particular geographic and cultural contexts, and especially those experiencing demographic, health socio-cultural and economic transitions. It also looks at the balance between disease control and health promotion for infectious disease, under-nutrition, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and injuries. It also focuses on the major causes of ill-health and premature mortality, as well as determinants of health and quality of life.

This program builds on the fundamental knowledge gained in the first four core courses of the Graduate Certificate in Magnetic Resonance Technology. Elective courses enable the student to study application of magnetic resonance fundamentals into the clinical environment as well as their development into advanced imaging techniques. This program also requires the completion of a minor research project on a topic selected by the student of relevance to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Molecular biology is the study of the structure and function of genes and the proteins they encode, including genome sequencing, recombinant DNA technology and macromolecular structure determination.
