The Master of Environmental Management is 1-2 year full-time program depending upon the grant of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). It is normally taken as a 96 unit of credit program, over a minimum of 4 full-time sessions, or 8 part-time sessions. However, it can be taken as a 72 UOC (1.5 years full-time equivalent) or 48 UOC program (1 year full-time equivalent), subject to RPL.

Applicants for this program are required to have successfully completed a recognised Bachelor degree. This degree does not have to be in a particular discipline. Application to the program is made through the UNSW Admissions Office.
This program offers an interdisciplinary and applied set of courses which outline some of the main decision-making frameworks and tools relevant to environmental management. The program also provides discipline-specific knowledge relevant to work in a range of environmental professions. The program can be taken by environmental specialists and non-specialists from a wide range of disciplines and interests.
Applicants for this program are required to have successfully completed a recognised Bachelor degree. This degree does not have to be in a particular discipline. Students may also be considered for admission based on successful completion of other tertiary qualifications equivalent to three years full-time study (Certificates and Diplomas completed at TAFE or equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a role related to environmental management. Relevant roles for consideration include:
?Environmental officer, planner and similar in local government,
?Environmental consulting, contamination assessment, geotechnical consulting, environmental health assessment and EIA,
?Environmental operations management (e.g. maintaining or auditing an environmental management system),
?Environmental project officer/manager, Natural resource management officer/manager or similar for state or federal government or for catchment authorities,
?Corporate environmental and/or energy monitoring, reporting and evaluation/auditing,
?Corporate sustainability reporting,
?Project management with an environmental focus,
?Building sustainability or energy efficiency assessment,
?Environmental outreach, extension or education (usually government or catchment management),
?Research assistant or associate on environmental themes,
?NGO or international organisation environmental campaign managers.
This program provides an introduction to the frameworks (especially sustainability), tools, and basic disciplinary knowledge relevant to environmental management.

The Master of Finance is designed for graduates who have completed a finance major in their undergraduate program and who are looking to develop their finance skills by studying more advanced finance topics. There are five streams:
?Master of Finance (General Finance)
?Master of Finance (Corporate Finance)
?Master of Finance (Funds Management)
?Master of Finance (International Finance)
?Master of Finance (Investment Banking)
To gain entry to this program, students must:
1.Have completed a Bachelor of Mathematics or a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree with a major in mathematics or statistics; and
2.Have sufficient mathematical and/or statistical background, as indicated by an average of 65 or above in level III mathematics and/or statistics university courses.
The program is intended for students who have completed a degree in Mathematics or Statistics, or a Science degree with a major in mathematics or statistics, and who wish to further their knowledge of mathematical finance and statistics. The program offers intensive, high-level training in principles of financial modelling and its mathematical foundations, statistical techniques, risk assessment, and computational techniques of financial mathematics. The program was introduced in order to provide students with a route to high quality careers in the financial industry and to provide the financial sector with a stream of highly trained specialists in Quantitative Finance. In addition, the program will provide a means of obtaining the necessary preparation for further research in mathematical finance.
Applicants require A) a recognised undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) in Commerce or Finance, with a credit average overall, as determined by the Australian School of Business, or B) a recognised non-business related undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) with a credit average overall as determined by the Australian School of Business AND a minimum of two years full time relevant work experience.
The Master of Financial Planning offers students a comprehensive postgraduate study program in financial planning. It is designed to exceed the Australian Securities and Investment Commission's Regulatory Guidelines 146 (RG146) financial product advisor tier 1 training requirements and the advanced standing requirements into the Financial Planning Association of Australia's CFP (Certified Financial Planner) certification program. The Master of Financial Planning enables students to develop knowledge and skills in financial markets, financial products, investment (theory, evidence, and quantitative techniques), risk management, financial planning, taxation law and strategies, compliance, ethical and professional conduct. The degree provides a distinguished level of training for the candidate to advance in the career of personal financial and investment advisory
Applicants require a recognised undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification), as determined by the Australian School of Business, AND, a minimum of two years full time relevant work experience.
The Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning offers candidate a one-year postgraduate study program in financial planning. It is designed to exceed the Australian Securities and Investment Commission's Regulatory Guidelines 146 (RG146) financial product advisor tier 1 training requirements. The Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning enables candidate to develop knowledge and skills in financial markets, investment, risk management, financial planning, taxation law and strategies, compliance, ethical and professional conduct. The degree provides a solid foundation for the candidate to advance in the career of and advanced study in personal financial and investment advisory.
Applicants require A) a recognised undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification), as determined by the Australian School of Business, AND, a minimum of two years full-time relevant work experience, or B) a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience, as determined by the Australian School of Business, AND, demonstrated completion of professional courses or studies. Meeting the minimum criterion in B) does not guarantee admission. An application should include as supporting documentation: 1. Detailed resume (outlining relevant competencies and achievements); and 2, evidence of other academic and professional qualifications.
The Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning offers student a half-year entry level postgraduate study program in financial planning. The curriculum of the Graduate Certificate enables students to develop knowledge and skills in financial markets, financial products, financial planning, taxation law and strategies which are essential for personal financial management. The curriculum also forms part of the syllabus of the higher programs in financial planning.
In order to be admitted to the program students need a recognised four year Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline of engineering with a minimum 65% average.
NOTE: The minimum average required for entry is as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Entry Score Calculator. Students from a non-211 university in China need a minimum 70% average.
Those without such a qualification are required to argue their prior learning is equivalent to this qualification. For example, a 3- or 4-year Bachelor of Engineering or Science combined with relevant discipline experience (exact positions and roles that will be considered relevant to be decided by each specialisation) may be recognised.
The Graduate Diploma of Engineering Science program is designed for engineers and graduates wishing to develop and expand their knowledge and skills in their current area of expertise.* This will enable students to meet or maintain professional accreditation standards and to provide opportunities for continuing professional development, as well as the opportunity to interact with those at the cutting edge of their discipline.
Students will add breadth to their knowledge of engineering in general and expand their knowledge and skills in engineering management. Students will develop their technical knowledge and ability to analyse engineering problems. They will also gain further skills in solving engineering problems and justifying professional decisions.
The Master of Education by Research is suited to the needs of professionals requiring some further research training and experience who are unable to devote the three or more years required to complete a PhD program. Candidates would normally have completed an undergraduate degree in Education at Honours level but those who have undertaken a Master degree in Education by coursework with superior results may be eligible for admission.
